About Hayden

Hi, I am Hayden and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, A Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor-I, and a Registered Supervisor in the state  of Oregon.

I am licensed counselor of mental health in Washington, California and Alabama.

I believe all people are capable of healthy change and it is my goal to co-create an environment of safety to facilitate healing and growth.

I adapt my modalities based on individual needs and situations. I am trained in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy ( AEDP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and take a humanistic/existential/experiential approach with an emphasis on self-compassion and mindfulness. I often work from a relational/attachment-focused & somatic based lens. I enjoy being creative, open-minded, and flexible with the therapeutic process. When I am not working, I enjoy spending my time existing, often outdoors with my animals.

Self-Care Tips

Nothing better to do?  Consider giving yourself a gift of self care  (it can be as simple or complex as you need.)

Self care can be anything at all that helps you feel nurtured. Take a deep breath with the awareness that you are able to do that.

Set the bar fail-proof low. Example: take one sip of water today, stretch your arms while sitting down and only for 10 seconds if it is convenient, simply consider doing one thing differently without taking any action.

Need a challenge?

Mindfully distract yourself (play video games with intention.)

Watch a Tedtalk.

Read a self help book (I recommend Brené Brown and Kristin Neff.)

Go outside! 10 minutes of nature a day is proven to increase well being.

Reach out to other people, animals, spirituality, support groups.

Give yourself permission to not be okay all of the time, you are a person, not a machine.
